Reading 2, Is 61:10-11, I rejoice in the Lord. : Deut 11:13-17, Abide by the laws of the Lord.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.11 For as the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Deut 11:13-17, Abide by the laws of the Lord.

13 "And if you will obey my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,14 he will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil. 15 And he will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you shall eat and be full. 16 Take heed lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them,17 and the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and he shut up the heavens, so that there be no rain, and the land yield no fruit, and you perish quickly off the good land which the LORD gives you.

Reading 3, Gal 6:11-18, Crucified to the world for the sake of Christ. : Col 2:20-3:4, I will be raised with Christ.

11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.

12 It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh that would compel you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.13 For even those who receive circumcision do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh.14 But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.16 Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God.17 Henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

Col 2:20-3:4, I will be raised with Christ.

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.21 I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification were through the law, then Christ died to no purpose. 1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun with the Spirit, are you now ending with the flesh? 4 Did you experience so many things in vain?--if it really is in vain.

Gospel, Lk 4:38-44, Healing at Simon : Jn 14:18-24, Love and the unity with God

40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.41 And demons also came out of many, crying, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.42 And when it was day he departed and went into a lonely place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them;43 but he said to them, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose." 44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

Jn 14:18-24, Love and the unity with God

18 "I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you.19 Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also.20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.21 He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?"23 Jesus answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.24 He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
